Lara Football and Netball Club (LFNC) has thanked Bisinella Developments for their ongoing sponsorship as they mark the eight-year milestone of the renaming of the main football oval to ‘Bisinella Oval’.
Lara Football Netball Club Football Chair Chris Spence said to recognise Bisinella’s significant history with LFNC and their generous contributions, the club decided in 2015 to relabel their home ground.
“Bisinella has continued to make generous contributions since 2007, ensuring the financial sustainability of LFNC,” Chris said.
“The continuity of sporting programs for our community is made possible by the ongoing support of Bisinella, enabling LFNC to meet its annual operational and general running expenses each year.”
LFNC is an iconic sporting institution in the Geelong region that has been shaping the lives of local children, youths, and young adults for over a century.
Central to their continued success and ability to engage the community is Bisinella Developments, a major partner of the club for many years.
Bisinella Developments’ partnership with LFNC runs deep, and their unwavering support has played a pivotal role in enabling the club to offer sporting opportunities to a diverse range of participants.
From the budding talent who takes their first steps on the football field or netball court through Auskick and NetSetGO to the senior athletes competing in elite competitions, Bisinella’s sponsorship has been instrumental in creating an environment for everyone to flourish.
Lara Football Netball Club Netball Chair Di Van Doren said 2022 was a significant milestone for the club as it marked their first fully completed season since 2019, due to COVID disruptions.
“The club experienced several on and off-field achievements that contributed to its success,” Di said.
“We recently unveiled new courts and pavilions for our netballers, that enhance the overall experience for players and fans.”
The netball program was recognised with the prestigious Victorian 2021 NetSetGO ‘Program of the Year’ award, acknowledging their outstanding work in introducing young players to the sport.
On the football front, the growth of female football programs at LFNC has been particularly noteworthy, with the senior women’s team elevating to Division 1 and the junior girls showing great promise in their respective age groups.
Looking ahead, LFNC remains committed to rebuilding its competitiveness in senior competitions and returning to finals action.
Additionally, nurturing the growth of its junior sides, Auskick, and NetSetGO programs remain a key focus.
Bisinella Director Richard Bisinella said he was delighted to renew their support for the club, providing valuable sporting opportunities for youth in Lara.
"Our commitment to the Geelong community extends beyond our projects, and supporting grassroots sports is close to our hearts.”
