Local businesses get a leg-up as Chamber celebrates 170-year milestone

The Geelong Chamber of Commerce, one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic organisations of its kind, recently marked a significant achievement highlighting its enduring
dedication to supporting local businesses and the community.

By bringing people together, honouring their accomplishments, and championing local enterprises, the chamber has made a meaningful impact on the community for an
impressive 170 years.

This level of success over such a lengthy period is impossible without the support of key businesses such as Bisinella Developments, which has a proud and long-standing
relationship with the chamber.

Bisinella director Richard Bisinella said he was thrilled to continue to support the chamber as it celebrated its 170-year milestone in 2023.

"As a family business operating in the Geelong area for more than 50 years, supporting fellow organisations and helping to foster their growth is something close to our hearts," he
said.

"For Bisinella, our commitment extends beyond developing local businesses through our projects, it also involves nurturing them, and the surrounding communities, for future
generations."

Geelong Chamber of Commerce CEO Jeremy Crawford said the chamber was grateful and excited to be continuing its long-standing relationship with Bisinella.

“It’s important that successful businesses like Bisinella support the Chamber so we can provide the best possible resources, member experiences and advocacy to the broader
business community, creating positive outcomes for everyone," he said.

The Geelong Chamber of Commerce is approaching 1000 members and has played an integral role in growing the confidence and prosperity of local businesses.

Membership Experience Manager Cameron Murnane said support from businesses such as Bisinella helped the chamber broaden its support of its members and the community.

"They have been a corporate partner for several years now and that allows us to do more for the broader membership and support all the businesses in the Chamber," he said.

"They have also helped impart knowledge on their particular industry regarding advice in the property and development sectors, and what businesses need, so we can take that
intel to the broader business audience."

The support from Bisinella has helped the Chamber evolve and grow its programs of support for local businesses.

The member-based organisation holds sought-after monthly networking functions, with up to 300 people from Geelong-based businesses privy to information from keynote speakers on a variety of issues that help educate and grow their organisation.

Cameron said the focus is now on growing the member value, Chamber services, and driving prosperity for Geelong.

"The feedback from members is that our events have been great, and they would not be possible without the corporate support of businesses such as Bisinella.

"Not only do members have a great time and get to meet and talk to experienced people in these industries, they will soon have many more reasons to engage and interact with the Geelong Chamber through an enhanced offering and advocacy opportunities.”

The Geelong Chamber will always be the voice of business in Geelong and provide opportunities to connect businesses through events and curated opportunities such as
roundtable discussions.

Corporate partnerships and especially the relationship with Bisinella are vital to Geelong’s business ecosystem and the future of success in our region, Cameron said.
