More than 16,000 students have been through the BioCATS program since its inception in 2012, learning about the science and maths of football and high-performance sports.

Bisinella Developments has been a driving force behind the Geelong Cats' BioCATS program, a groundbreaking initiative that merges science, maths and football, since 2015.

A collaboration between the Geelong Football Club and BioLAB: Victorian Bioscience Education Centre, and proudly supported by Bisinella Developments, the BioCATS program has not only educated but inspired young minds, showcasing practical applications of science and maths.

Bisinella's unwavering commitment has propelled the program's expansion, resulting in heightened student engagement and the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles.

BioLAB Director Yvonne Van Der Ploeg said its exciting to see students reaction and enthusiasm when they are applying their mathematical skills or investigating scientific principles whilst they are moving and using their body to explore concepts and apply their learning.

Geelong Cats Chief Operating Officer Simon Kelleher added the BioCATS have been a staple in the Cats Community suite of programs for the past 13 years, and it is a great opportunity to show young children a wide number of future career paths they can pursue in and around an elite sporting environment.

“Bisinella Developments have been wonderful long-term partners of the program, and it has been rewarding to see the impact our Geelong-region based organisations can make together,” he said.

Recently, the club hosted an event that saw approximately 30 Warrnambool Koorie students participate and learn the importance of nutrition and hydration and the benefits that come from sports participation.

Additionally, the club generously provided local schools with co-branded footballs, encouraging students to continue their sports activities beyond the program.

Bisinella Developments Director Richard Bisinella reflected on the partnership with great pride.

“We are thrilled to see students return to Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium this year to enjoy the full benefits of this hands-on program. It's truly rewarding to see the impact it has had on so many young lives,” Mr Bisinella said.
