Over the last 38 years, Hope Bereavement Care has cared for those in the Geelong community facing one of life’s most challenging times—the sudden or unexpected loss of a loved one.
As the only bereavement organisation catering specifically to the needs of the Geelong area, extending its compassionate services throughout Victoria’s Barwon and Southwest Regions.
On Tuesday 16th of April 2024, Hope hosted their 15th Annual Sports Breakfast fundraiser at The Presidents Room, GMHBA Stadium which Bisinella Developments, is supporting once again, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting the vital work Hope performs within the local community.
Bisinella Developments Director, Richard Bisinella said we are honoured to support Hope Bereavement Care, an organisation that significantly eases the grief burden for many.
“Like every year, the breakfast is one of the marquee events for Hope, and we are proud to be supporting in such an impactful initiative,” Richard said.
“This event has a great turnout every year and growing its popularity in the region.
“Hearing firsthand accounts from individuals within our local community who have faced significant losses is profoundly moving and ensures an unforgettable experience.”
This year the event hosted by Roxie Bennett alongside Geelong Football Club 2022 premiership player Gary Rohan as keynote speaker and Catriona Barnett sharing her poignant story of loss and hope.
The impact of Hope’s work is profound. Over the last financial year, Hope, in collaboration with its partners, provided support to 714 individuals grieving the loss of loved ones, including offering 1,563 counselling sessions, facilitating 83 bereavement support groups and orchestrating special remembrance events for over 600 bereaved individuals.
The success of Hope’s initiatives and its ability to continue providing these invaluable services is largely due to the generosity of local businesses like Bisinella Developments, the dedication of Hope's volunteers, and the unwavering support of the Geelong community.
The participation and support of both attendees and sponsors to the breakfast greatly contributes to Hope’s mission of providing crucial bereavement care and ensuring that no one in the community faces grief alone.
Like many, this fundraiser is vital for the continuation of this work, as it relies entirely on community contributions and receives no direct government funding.
Bisinella was proud to support the Breakfast yet another year, an event that not only brings the Geelong community together but also makes a tangible difference in the lives of those navigating through their darkest hours.
