Bisinella to sponsor local fun run in Lara

Published: 04/12/2024

Bisinella Developments is proudly supporting the annual Lara Fun Run and Walk again in 2024, helping runners and walkers of all abilities cross the finish line on December 1.

Starting and finishing at Bisinella’s historical Pirra Homestead in Windermere, the community race winds through the picturesque Serendip Sanctuary wildlife park.

Participants will get the opportunity to jog or stroll on tracks amongst beautiful bushland as well as roads that are normally off limits to the public.

Bisinella Developments Director Richard Bisinella said he was thrilled to be able to continue supporting the event, which promotes healthy and active lives.

“Community sporting events such as the Lara Fun Run are incredibly important for physical and mental health,” Richard said.

“We are delighted to be able to sponsor this event once again and provide the historical landmark of Pirra Homestead as a base.”

The family-friendly event caters for individuals of all ages and abilities, with participants able to complete a 10km run or a 5km run or walk.

There is also a dedicated 1km dash for kids, which Richard said was an important inclusion to  reinforce the benefits of exercise and spending time outdoors for children.

“Encouraging kids to take part helps set them up for an active lifestyle in the future, which is why events like the Lara Fun Run are so important,” he said.

“I wish all participants the very best for the day.”

The Lara Fun Run attracts hundreds of participants every year, and money raised goes towards local community groups such as the Lara Junior Football Club.

PB Events Founder and Race Director Justin Higgens said the event, which is in its 14th year, caters for experienced runners as well as those looking to try something new.

“This year, the event is expected to sell out, with 750 people participating for the first time ever which is great,” Justin said.

“This will include around 50 kids for the dash and 700 participants in the 5km and 10km groups.”

Justin explained that without the support of sponsors like Bisinella, this community fun run would not be possible.

“These events provide so many benefits to the community and I’m extremely grateful for Bisinella’s continued support and sponsorship,” he said.

Following the event, participants will receive a medal and a personalised certificate noting their official finishing time, pace, and place.
