Bisinella’s ongoing sponsorship helps local sporting club thrive

Leading Geelong land developer Bisinella Developments is proud to continue its long-standing sponsorship of the Lara Football Netball Club (LFNC) in 2025.

The valued partnership has spanned 23 years, shaping the sporting and social fabric of the Lara community.

Founded in 1881, the LFNC is one of the oldest sporting clubs in the Geelong region and today supports nearly 800 participants across more than 30 football and netball teams, spanning all age groups.

From grassroots programs like Auskick and NetSetGo, to senior competitions, the club fosters connection, community and opportunity for local players, families and volunteers.

In recent years, the club has also hosted local events like the annual Australia Day breakfast and Christmas in Lara, to initiatives like the Spirit of ANZAC commemorations and environmental clean-up days.

LSC Football Section Chair Chris Spence said the support of local businesses like Bisinella was essential in keeping community sport sustainable and inclusive.

“It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to run our programs and field teams in the Geelong Football Netball League,” Chris said.

“Bisinella’s generous sponsorship allows us to provide kids and young adults with access to healthy, positive sporting opportunities.

“From equipment and uniforms to coaching resources and game-day operations, this kind of partnership helps keep our club viable.”

Bisinella’s contribution is visible in more than just financial support. In 2015, in recognition of the relationship between the club and the company, LFNC’s main football ground was renamed Bisinella Oval.

Today, Bisinella Oval remains a beacon of community comradery for local sport, with the name appearing in official league fixtures and across regional media.

“The naming of the oval was a symbolic gesture of Bisinella’s generous community contribution,” Chris said.

“Bisinella has been part of Lara’s growth for decades and understands the club’s central role in a healthy and vibrant community.

“Their support has gone hand-in-hand with our own development, enabling us to grow junior participation and expand our facilities.”

As interest in participating in community sport has grown, so too has the club. Chris said 2025 has proven to be another year of evolution for LFNC.

“We’ve introduced new coaches, leadership and players across the board, and, while it’s been a challenging season, we’re laying strong foundations,” Chris said.

“Our senior women’s and netball teams are thriving under new leadership, with promising results already showing.”

Looking ahead, LFNC and Bisinella share a vision for an even stronger community, where sport plays a pivotal role in shaping connected communities and encouraging healthy lives.

Bisinella Developments Director Richard Bisinella said he was proud to have supported the LFNC for more than two decades.

“The Lara Football Netball Club plays a vital role in bringing the community together, providing opportunities for people of all ages to connect, grow and thrive through sport,” Richard said.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the club evolve and succeed over the years, and we look forward to continuing that journey together.”
