Bisinella’s solar rebate supports lifestyle switch to Lara

Backyard fun, trips to the park and summer days at the beach - Simon and Jami Robinson are reaping the rewards of making the lifestyle switch from Melbourne to Lara, with their young family.

The past 12 months has been a whirlwind for the Robinsons after they secured a much sought-after lot in Bisinella’s Apple Gum’s Estate in October 2020.

The couple started building straight away and in September 2021 they got the keys to their three-bedroom home.

The lure of the coast, proximity to family and the chance to get away from the busyness of Melbourne were all contributing factors to their decision to relocate down the highway.

Since making the move, the couple have been enjoying their new home and community and exploring the region with their three young daughters, Ellie, 4, Milla, 2 and Olivia, 6 months.

“It’s fantastic – we are really happy, explained Mr Robinson.

As Mr Robinson explained, Lara ticks all their boxes.

“We wanted to live somewhere with a smaller town feel but still close to everything. We are rapt to have our own space.

“Having such a young family we were keen to get away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. We chose Lara because we are close to family in Geelong and the beaches but are still on the right side of Geelong so I can get to work in Melbourne easily.

“If we go the other way, in 35 minutes we are in Barwon Heads, Torquay, Anglesea – it’s amazing. We utilise the beach a lot with the young girls and the You Yangs are close by too.”

Mr Robinson said the family was also embracing their community and enjoying meeting other families.

“All of the facilities that we need are here. I’ve been working in Sydney, and I can fly straight into Avalon which is only about 12 minutes from our house.”
