Bisinella Developments is close to commencing work on Lara Lakes Estate, subject to the City of Greater Geelong’s approval of detailed engineering plans and landscape masterplans.

The detailed engineering plans were originally submitted to Council on 12 June 2020 and we have been working closely with Senior Management at the Council to obtain approvals.

Bisinella originally expected approvals to be obtained from the Council in early 2021 with construction to follow at the start of April 2021.

However, as these are taking longer than anticipated to obtain from the Council, the estimated completion date of December 2021 will need to be updated. We hope to be able to update our customers early next month on a revised completion date.

Lara Lakes Estate is located within the City of Greater Geelong growth area known as the Lara West Precinct, which was approved by Council in February 2014.

A planning permit application for Lara Lakes Estate was made to the Council in May 2018.

The Planning Permit was issued in February 2020, following a mediation at the Victoria Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Bisinella has completed the following items to enable works to proceed:

• Entered into agreements with Opticomm Connected Communities for fast speed internet
• Approved tenders for the provision of power infrastructure
• Close to finalising water and sewerage services with Barwon Water
• Obtained approval from the City of Greater Geelong for the Storm Water Management Plan
• Obtained approval from the Corangamite Catchment Authority
• Obtained Cultural Heritage approvals
• Entered into agreements for the provision of natural gas

Bisinella Director Richard Bisinella said “although we are disappointed with these delays, we are allocating all of our resources to the issue so we can resolve outstanding matters with the Council as soon as possible”.
