Bisinella Developments is delighted to announce that a playground proposed for the Linear Reserve in the Lara Lakes Estate is now supported by the City of Greater Geelong.
Spacious parklands, scenic waterways and natural play spaces are just some of the highlights of Bisinella’s plans for the 520-lot Lara Lakes Estate.
Modelled on the national-award winning Grand Lakes Estate, the new estate will include 6.7ha of open space, including wetlands, extensive walking trials and two playgrounds, including one in the Linear Reserve. It will also feature 75 lake/park frontage lots.
Bisinella Director Richard Bisinella said the Linear Reserve playground had been a key design consideration for the estate from the early planning stages.
"Our plans for this playground were first presented to the City of Greater Geelong in September 2019," Mr Bisinella said.
"Bisinella later went to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to expedite the planning permit and still the City raised no issues regarding a playground in this location.
"However City officers subsequently refused to approve the playground.
"In recent discussions, we have been able to convince the City that the playground is appropriate and Council now support the additional Playground in this location."
Lara Lakes Estate has been inspired by Bisinella’s 800-lot Grand Lakes Estate, which is a vibrant community of more than 2000 residents.
“At the heart of Grand Lakes is the playground on Westlakes Boulevard, which since the day it opened has become a very popular destination for local families and visitors alike,” Mr Bisinella explained.
"The Grand Lakes playground provides a beautiful outlook together with extensive walkways and a fun place for children to play in a safe location.
“We look forward to a new generation of families enjoying our playgrounds and the rest of the open space at Lara Lakes Estate.”
