Stage One of northern suburbs industrial estate now complete

Stage One of the Bisinella Industrial Estate in the Geelong Ring Road Employment Precinct (GREP) has been completed.

The milestone was reached eight years after the planning permit for the first parcel of Bisinella Developments’ industrial land was lodged with the City of Greater Geelong.

The completion of Stage One of the Bisinella Industrial Estate is a major win for the northern suburbs, generating jobs and fostering investment in the area.

Stages Two and Three of the 40ha Bisinella Industrial Estate on the corner of Bacchus Marsh Road and Heales Road, Corio are due for completion in May, 2018.

One of the region’s largest land development companies, Bisinella Developments owns, leases and manages industrial facilities totalling more than 110,000 square metres in the Geelong region.

Earlier this year the company commenced development of the new 40 hectare industrial estate in the GREP.

A national award-winning family-run business, Bisinella Developments has a proud history, dating back more than 50 years, of successful residential and industrial development in the region.

Bisinella Developments’ managing director, Lino Bisinella, has been in business for 53 years and constructing industrial properties for 45 years.

As well as residential estates, the company has developed industrial land and custom built factories and warehouses for more than 40 years.

Richard Bisinella, Development Manager, Bisinella Developments, said the completion of stage one of the estate was a “great outcome for the North of Geelong and we look forward to seeing the factories being constructed on the lots soon”.

“We lodged the planning permit for the first parcel of land in 2009.  Since then, we have taken a principled stance to overcome each and every hurdle precluding us from putting the land to market. Completing the first stage of the estate is a great result and we are looking forward to the final stages being completed next year.”

“We have sold five industrial lots (out of 16) and are planning to construct some factories to lease. We are also in active discussions with a number of parties for new factories on our land,” he said.

The industrial estate is an attractive option for businesses looking to re-locate to Geelong. It offers quality industrial land in a prominent and convenient location, together with custom street lighting in Technology Close, the main entrance to the estate. All of the lots are high speed broadband ready.

The 500ha Geelong Ring Road Employment Precinct (the GREP) is Geelong’s largest designated growth area for industrial development. It is easily accessed by road, rail, sea and air and is one of only a few places in Victoria with industrial 2 zoned land available.

The Bisinella Industrial Estate has been home to one major tenant, RPC Technologies since 2009.

Federal Corio MP Richard Marles said “I was first elected to the parliament 10 years ago – almost exactly the same amount of time the first planning permit for the precinct was lodged with the City of Greater Geelong”.

“The completion of Stage One is good news for the North. The lots sold for new facilities, and the facilities Bisinella themselves have planned, will give our community the jobs of the future we need,” he said.

“The next two stages, on the corner of Bacchus Marsh Road and Heales Road, should be finished in the middle of next year, and I look forward to seeing those businesses start to grow, too.”

State Lara MP John Eren said “being the local State Member for Lara including this very important precinct, I am pleased Stage One of the industrial estate at the Geelong Ring Road Employment Precinct has now been completed”.

The State Government are proud of our investment into this area, which will provide thousands of jobs for locals.”
